Ingersoll Rand Cordless 1-Inch Impact Wrench Cuts the Cord, Not the Power
Ingersoll Rand is well-known in the fleet truck, oil & gas, power generation, and rail industries for the powerful pneumatic tools they make. Recently, they’ve expanded their cordless tools to do more without the need for air hoses or cords. The Ingersoll Rand Cordless Impactool Impact Wrench is the brand’s heaviest hitter in their 20V cordless line with a 1-inch drive and enough power to reach 3,000 ft-lbs. of nut-busting torque.
Ingersoll Rand Impactool: The Big Deal
When you’ve decidedly moved to a 1″ driveshaft, it’s because you need the power to handle hard-to-break bolts. With the Ingersoll Rand Cordless Impactool impact wrench, both the extended and regular anvil options, you get 3,000 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque and 2,200 ft-lbs of tightening torque.
This is the sort of power you expect from a large pneumatic impact wrench. However, the IR W9491 and W9691 come with the freedom and mobility that comes from ditching the air hose.
It features four power control modes and an Integrated Power Control System. This provides automatic shut-off at around 180 and 400 ft-lbs. of fastening torque to prevent over-tightening in the “Snug” and “Mid-Power” settings.
The other interesting design feature of the Ingersoll Rand 1-inch Impact Wrench revolves around the battery platform. The company uses two of its IQV20 (20V) batteries. That lets the tool draw 40V (volts) to hit these particular torque values while providing enough runtime to fasten or break loose up to 250 bolts per charge.
The batteries clip onto the tool just in front of the rear handle, one on each side. This keeps the tool balanced, and the batteries hug pretty tightly to the side of the tool. This makes it appear less cumbersome to handle.
The Ingersoll Rand 1-Inch Cordless Impactool Impact Wrench comes in two flavors. The W9491 offers a standard 1″ anvil while the W9691 offers a 6-inch extended 1″ anvil.
Other Features
