If your shop doesn’t do enough volume of high-end work to justify the added convenience and increased productivity then the cost is way over the top. When you add in extra cutters (DF500 sizes and some fractional sizes too) and productivity aids from Seneca Woodworking – the XL machine can do most anything the smaller 500 machine can do and adds in the capability for using the larger dominos.

I believe that once this tool goes off-patent we will see an explosion of look-alikes from other manufacturers at different price points – and the tool type will come into much wider-spread use.
