The only problem with it is the cord. I have had the cord get hung up in the middle of a pass and it messes up the cut when you either change the feed rate or worse stop the cut in the middle. So then I got the 18v blue core powered cordless from bosch. that solves that problem and it has worked very well. The only drawbacks are that it has only one blade. the shoe is not as large as the dewalt so the stability is not as good. and it works on a Ni-Cad battery that has no charge indicator on it so you do not know before you start using it if you will have enough charge to complete the work. On the positive side it does have an excellent blade brake that the dewalt does not have. I just bought the Milwaukee and it has only the positive attributes of the dewalt and the bosch with none of their drawbacks. Plus the depth adjustment is superior to both of them. It has zero starting point for the front shoe where the others will keep spinning with no stop leaving the user either guessing if the depth is correct or having to gauge it with precision instruments. The Milwaukee has twin blades and the same rpms as my corded dewalt so the cut is super smooth. It has a electric brake as well as a drop down foot on the rear shoe so you can sit in down as soon as you are done with it and know that the blades and surface you sit it on will be undamaged. To sum it up, it is the perfect planer for me.

I have a bunch of cordless Milwaukee tools but want to get the best and am comparing this to the bosch 1594 and the Makita KP0810
