Milwaukee M12 ProPEX Installation Tool 2432-22 Preview

We’re used to seeing lots of unique tools – and the cordless aspect just means that the possibilities are endless. But when Milwaukee pulled out the stops and introduced their M12 Lithium-Ion ProPEX installation tool with auto-rotating ProPEX Expansion Heads we knew they had gone somewhere new. Really new. Designed for easy one-handed use, the M12 ProPEX Expansion tool allows users to install Uponor ProPEX fittings up to four times faster, and are compatible with over 25 tools on their respective battery platforms for added utility and value. This much anticipated product launch follows the April 2010 announcement of a new partnership with Uponor to deliver increased productivity to plumbing and heating professionals by developing a comprehensive solution for installing ProPEX.

“Feedback from ProPEX installers was to improve their current installation tool(s). Until now, contractors using the hand tool would be required to maneuver and expand the tube while rotating the head segments slightly, all at the same time. You can tell this would be awkward, especially in tight quarters. Milwaukee’s new auto-rotating head and continuous expansion design significantly increases productivity by delivering a fast and accurate method for installing ProPEX.”

– Mark Senske, Sr. Product Manager for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation

Inspired by Uponor’s ProPEX innovation and constructed with legendary Milwaukee durability, the new tools are built with all-metal gears and an integrated metal frame to withstand even the toughest jobsite conditions. The tool kit will come with three commonly used accessory heads: 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″. The full line of accessory heads will also be sold separately: The M12 tool will accept 3/8″ up to 1″.

Among the first products powered by RedLithium battery technology, the new expansion tools should have a good level of performance, durability and run-time for the professional tradesman.
