With plastic collated nails the bits of plastic fly like shrapnel I remember fishing it out of my coworkers eyes with a carpenter pencil. This is only with the framing guns . I’ve since switched to paper collated nails.

Myself I will move to battery power. FYI: The title is incorrectly stated, “Pneumatic Vs Cordless Nailers: What’s the Best Choice?”. Recall your grade school grammar lesson about good, better, best. When comparing two items use better, when comparing three or more items use best. Yes, it does make a difference.

We always recommend eye protection—not sure why the propellant would matter there. Cordless is safer in that there is no hose to trip up a ladder. It is heavier, however, which brings its own concerns.

Certainly, if you’re not building a house…or you’re living back in the 1800s…or Nebraska Amish.

If it’s a Ryobi that is a known problem with a known fix. Take it in for service and you will be ready to go. Been there, done that.

I can shoot a 18ga into solid hickory with a cordless nailer, 98% of the time with no nail projection.
You are not holding your tongue right.
