Senco SHFS200 Flooring Stapler First Look

Senco SHFS200

The Senco SHFS200 flooring stapler is designed to make your hardwood flooring installation much easier as a professional or serious DIYer. This is a mallet actuated system that features best in class power (547 inch pounds at 100 PSI). It utilizes 15.5 gauge, 1/2″ crown staples that are 1″ – 2″ in length. What I love about the design is that by placing the plate squarely on the surface, the tool is aligned to deliver the staples at an angle and direction that is automatic. I’ll take anything that takes the guesswork and error out of installing hardwood!

Speaking of that non-marring base plate, the Senco SHFS200 can easily be converted between installing 1/2″ and 3/4″ flooring by simply pulling the plate away from the body, twisting it opposite it’s starting position, and drop it back in place. No tools to worry about or screws to drop!

“The unique pad design adds greater versatility with its ability to swiftly accommodate different flooring thicknesses,” says product manager Eric Bellman. “Installers have reported using the pad to align the boards instead of a mallet as it is quicker to set-up and gives a tighter fit.”

From a safety standpoint, the SHFS200 features a safety trigger that must be depress when striking the actuator with the included mallet. As shown in the video, it won’t fire unless you’ve got it pressed down. The air intake fitting is angled so that the air hose stays out of the way during use.
