Milwaukee 2821 and 2822 Reciprocating Saws Join Sawzall Lineup
Milwaukee’s next generation of Sawzalls is due to hit stores coming up later this year. These new tools replace the existing 2720 and 2721 (One-Key) models, one of the best reciprocating saws we tested to-date.

Milwaukee on Upcoming SawZalls
The first generation of the M18 FUEL SawZall changed the game for pros because it allowed them to cut the cord for the very first time. This year we are continuing to push the boundaries of cordless technology with the second generation of the M18 FUEL SawZall—the fastest-cutting reciprocating saw in its class. Plus, not only is it lighter than the previous generation, but it’s also the most durable SawZall reciprocating saw to-date.

Game-Changing Features
Like all of the M18 Fuel lineup, the Milwaukee 2821 and 2822 reciprocating saws rely on a brushless motor for powering the tool. The new Sawzalls crank out up to 3000 strokes per minute with a 1-1/4 stroke length.
With this sort of capability, these recips can make the fastest cuts in the industry with nail-embedded wood, black pipe, and conduit. Milwaukee’s internal circuitry makes sure that the SawZalls maintain performance under load while protecting the battery from overload.
While all this power is impressive, Milwaukee has also gone to great lengths redesigning the 2821 and 2822 Sawzalls to stand up to tough jobsite conditions. Not only do these reciprocating saws feature the latest in Milwaukee’s motor, battery, and circuitry tech, but they’ve upgraded wear and corrosion resistance.
The Milwaukee 2821 and 2822 SawZalls feature an upgraded slide crank mechanism that improves the tool’s overall durability by protecting against water and dust ingress.
An anti-corrosion blade clamp, wear-resistant blade change lever, and reinforced battery connection keep these SawZalls reliable through years of jobsite abuse.
The 2822 SawZall features Milwaukee One-Key technology for Bluetooth connectivity between the tool and your smartphone app. This allows you to dial in performance settings for unique applications, like adjusting cut speeds for a smoother startup or engaging the Cut-Brake. This feature stops the blade from moving after completing a cut.
With One-Key, you can create your own preset modes, and using a button on the tool, switch between 3 modes on the fly. Once the modes have been set up through the app, you can keep your phone in your pocket.
One-Key also lets you track your tools with community tracking and alerts, as well as digitally manage your tool inventory.
Availabilty
It looks like Milwaukee will stagger the release of the second-gen Sawzalls, with the 2821 coming out in November of this year. When it does release, you can pick it up as a bare tool (2821-20) for $199. Kitted with one 5.0Ah battery and charger (2821-21), the saw retails for $319. You also have the option of a 2-battery kit for $419 (2821-22).
Expect the One-Key edition of the Milwaukee SawZall to hit shelves beginning in January of next year. The 2822 will come either as a bare tool or kitted with two 5.0Ah batteries. As a bare tool, it will retail for $259, while the kit can be had for $469.
Both the Milwaukee 2821 and 2822 M18 Fuel SawZalls come with the brand’s 5-year warranty.

How is the 2821 as far as vibration?
Shame, No orbital action mentioned for the 2822 model, and going to 2x5Ah instead of one 12Ah, and price increased, looks like a downgrade .
