Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knives Gaining Two More Members this Spring
The original Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knife changed the game by introducing a flipper based utility knife and making us all wonder why we didn’t think of that before. The new models build on the features we all know an love from the previous two generations.
With the simplest upgrade, the next gen Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knife with Blade Storage gains the capability to hold more extra blades in storage. It now holds four in storage and one on the tool – handy since most utility blades are sold in multiples of five.
All the features we loved about the Fastback II with Blade Storage are there including the gut hook, wire form clip, and wire stripper. There’s now a 45-degree angle to lock in to for easier cutting when you can’t get enough leverage on a straight angle. Milwaukee even managed to get the extra blade in there without increasing the thickness, so the feel and grip you’re used to won’t be affected.
For those that prefer something smaller, the Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knife now comes in a smaller size. The Milwaukee Fastback Compact Utility Knife is designed to fit easily in your pocket while still accepting standard size utility blades.
Both new Fastback models feature the simple blade change of their predecessors along with a belt clip, lanyard hole, and Milwaukee’s lifetime hand tool warranty.
“The original Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knife has been iconic since it was first introduced to the industry, and the innovation behind it has set the bar for all other utility knives that have followed. We’ve now fully redesigned these tools to make them even better than the originals by offering a version with increased blade storage, as well as a more compact version. And we’ve done it all without sacrificing their ergonomic shape or ease of opening, which are defining features for Fastback fans.”

About all I use anymore for a utility knife…
IThe only thing that I don’t like about them is if you’re cutting drywall in the dust gets inside the hinge to replace the blade it can be troublesome, other than that it’s a pretty nice tool.
