Ryobi 40V Jet Fan Blower/Vacuum: The Big Deal
This tool is Ryobi’s first venture into the vacuum/blower combination world. They make already one of the best cordless leaf blowers on the market if you want a great combination of power and low noise. The Ryobi Vac Attack leaf mulcher also impressed us with its ergonomic design. The Ryobi 40V Jet Fan Blower/Vacuum (RY404015BTLVNM) fuses both concepts into the best of both worlds. In fact, this tool provides up to 25% more mulching than the Vac Attack, while incorporating a simpler, inline design.
The Ryobi RY404150 has an air volume output of up to 600 CFM and an air speed of up to 100 MPH when using the included speed tip. Its single tube design simplifies the transition from blower to vacuum mode with just the turn of a dial.
Twist a Dial to Switch Modes
Yes, to switch from blower to vacuum you just turn a dial. That eliminates the need for extra attachments where you flip the hose out for a vacuum tube. Instead, you just switch modes and attach a bag to the back of the blower. The inline blower tube now acts as the vacuum nozzle.
Compared to similar tools like the Makita XBU04 cordless blower mulcher, which incorporates a vacuum adapter kit with a separate hose, Ryobi’s design is much more streamlined.

A variable speed dial lets you control the airflow, and there’s a cruise control function that you can activate once you find that sweet spot.

This tool retails for $369 as a bare tool. You can also find it in kit form, including two 40V 4Ah batteries and one rapid charger, for $469. It will be available exclusively at The Home Depot starting in November 2022, just in time for fall cleanup.
